Leadership Team
Tracy Abrams
Tracy Abrams was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and built his path as a high-level student-athlete. He went on to play college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini and professionally in Serbia.
At Mount Carmel High School, he was a four-year varsity player, helped lead the program to 89 wins, and earned first-team all-state honors in Illinois for three years.
During his time at Illinois, he completed a bachelor's degree in communication, a master's degree in recreation, sport and tourism, and a master's degree in education policy and organization leadership while serving as a four-year starter and leader for the team.
Tracy later founded Chicago Positive Impact to help young people grow through basketball, leadership training, life skills, and meaningful support on and off the court.

Alex Austin
Alex Austin is a University of Illinois graduate and former member of the men's basketball team. While at Illinois, he earned degrees in communications and sports management.
After Illinois, he earned a second master's degree in kinesiology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville while working with SIUE Athletics.
Alex now serves as Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events at Mount Carmel High School and has been part of Chicago Positive Impact from the beginning as a trusted resource for young people on and off the court.

Dana Turner
Dana Turner is an educational leader deeply committed to equity, instructional excellence, and school improvement. Her work centers on helping schools create stronger learning experiences and better outcomes for students.
As a district leader, Dana has supported school administrators in developing strong instructional practices, building collaborative school cultures, and using data-driven strategies to improve student achievement.
With experience in International Baccalaureate education and culturally responsive teaching, she also mentors principals and helps build long-term leadership capacity across schools.

Duane B. Davis, Ph.D.
Dr. Duane B. Davis has spent nearly three decades teaching, coaching, consulting, and leading across Chicago and beyond. His career has focused on helping schools, educators, and community organizations build stronger systems for young people.
He has coached teachers and supported school improvement through organizations including the Teachers Academy of Math and Science, Kaplan K12 Services, The New Teacher Center, Lewis University, Illinois State University, National Louis University, and Elmhurst College.
His experience also includes faculty, administrative, and consulting work with Malcolm X College, Kennedy King College, Governors State University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the Academy for Urban School Leadership, the University of Chicago, Intrinsic Charter Schools, Northwestern University Settlement House, and several other mission-driven organizations.
At the University of Chicago, he served as Executive Director of K12 Education Initiatives and led literacy and school partnership efforts locally and nationally, including the My Very Own Library Program.
Dr. Davis earned his Ph.D. in education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, leads Raising Expectations LLC, and continues to serve on nonprofit and school boards with a deep commitment to students and families.

Geneatra Green
Geneatra Green is a community leader with more than 12 years of nonprofit experience and a deep heart for service. She believes every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and imagine a brighter future.
With a professional background in banking and health care, Geneatra also holds leadership roles at the University of Chicago Medical Center and brings strategic vision to Chicago Positive Impact.
She joined the organization because she believes in helping youth build stronger futures for themselves, and her commitment to mentorship is shaped by both her life experiences and professional journey.
Outside of leadership work, she enjoys bowling, sports, and attending concerts and plays.
